Night time, definitely, but it’s no longer a hindrance to my “day job.” Late morning and afternoon I’m mostly gathering info, and late evening is when I do the majority of my problem-solving.
I work for a global / online organization and we’re scattered across a handful of time zones. I usually start my day by 11, and until about 4 I’m drowning in emails and calls because that’s when a lot of our shifts overlap. I cut out by 4 until way later on, when it’s quiet and I can attack issues without interruption.
This usually lets me overlap with the beginning of my Croatia-based coworker’s shift. She’s awesome and super helpful, but pretty bogged down or calling it quits by the time I start my day.
I’m definitely more productive and getting better sleep with this sort of situation. Have hope, white-collar work is busting out of the 9-to-5 straight jacket…!
