the things I cannot accept.

noooooooo - i mean, it would be hella more validating to get paid for doing this much legwork, but seriously, I hate my life.

Haha. I suppose it does have to do with the idea of getting paid to do this. I’ve learned a lot in reading job descriptions and looking through each company’s website, and have had a lot of recent candid conversations about hiring with two ex-bosses as well as with friends who are or have been in recruitment or HR roles (and I’ve also bugged you with a few questions!).

The whole process is obsession-grade interesting to me, and I’ve got the hunt down to a good rhythm:

  • Search, scan, “yep, I can do this…” save.
  • Revisit, peruse, “yep, I’d like this…” apply.
  • Lather, rinse, repeat.

I’ve also had a few instances where I see a company’s “about” page or mission statement and think:

  • What does that even mean; has anyone in-house ever read that aloud?!
  • Welp. That’s probably why you’re hiring a writer.

Anyway. It’s all fun and games until my final paycheck arrives. Then I will join you on the life-hating section of the job-seeking boat.
