I'm Here.

Right now: Austin, Texas
This one time: Richmond, Virginia
Once upon a time: Fort Lauderdale, Florida
From time to time: Brooklyn, New York

Grant me the serendipity to change
the things I cannot accept.

First thing this morning, my boss sent an email to tell me I don’t have to be in the office if I don’t want to between now and an important meeting in February. This after last week when he said, “you know, you don’t always have to come in every week unless something big’s happening.”

When I told him I like to pop in and show everyone I’m alive, like a normal human being with a normal office job, he rolled his eyes and asked if I went to Europe yet, and then asked why not. He thinks I’m crazy for popping into the office on days I don’t “HAVE” to be there.

This fall, I’m looking to use my passport for the first time, for something along the lines of a Dublin / London / Paris / Berlin trip, tied into a wedding outside of Dublin. It seems like an outrageous idea. But who comes back from a trip like that, kicking themselves for having done it?

My boss is a broken record about traveling before children come along, and I take as much advantage as is reasonable/manageable for me. There will be some ugly crying when the day comes that I no longer work for him.

  2. mrsmaria2b answered: That’s an awesome itinerary! Plan ahead for London because of the Olympic Games though. There’s a boat from Dublin, but lodging may be hard!
  3. terminaleight answered: Go. Trust me. Go. I had one of the greatest times of my life on my little European excursion. I can’t wait to do it again.
