THE INTERNET! Etsy is great for vintage and unworn deadstock shoes (good search terms there include “deadstock,” “made in Italy,” “made in Spain”). So many handsome and well-constructed shoes can be found there.
Also, there are some good finds around Austin, including Laced With Romance. Their online inventory doesn’t always reflect everything available in-store. I definitely have seen a lot of great shoes going through there. Same with New Bohemia.
If you’d like, I can PM you some modern / current brands that I found with some nice, classic designs. I don’t want to become a pusher of specific brands and products here, even when I do buy things new, because they’re not paying me to endorse their things, and because there is SO much out there that is not “brand new” but has far better construction than “brand new.”
